Full article:

Former Cumbrian priest and poet, David Scott and award winning poet Daljit Nagra will be returning to Grasmere to read their latest poetry.

The pair are taking part in the Summer Poetry Readings in the Waterside Hotel, Grasmere, organised by the Wordsworth Trust at Dove Cottage. The regular fortnightly programme of readings brings some of the best of the present day poets to Grasmere.

Daljit Nagra was born and raised in West London to Punjabi parents, and currently lives in Willesden where he works in a secondary school. His first collection: Look We Have Coming to Dover! was published in 2007 by Faber. The title poem from the book had previously won the Forward Prize for Best Individual Poem 2004. His poems have been widely published and his pamphlet, Oh My Rub!, was a Smith/Doorstep Books winner.

David Scott was a parish priest in Cumbria for eleven years, and since 1991 has been Rector of St Lawrence and St Swithun in Winchester. He won the Sunday Times/BBC national poetry competition in 1978, and in 1986 was awarded with the Geoffrey Faber Memorial Prize for his first book of poems, A Quiet Gathering (1984). His second collection, Playing for England (1989) was a Poetry Book Society Recommendation. His latest collection of poetry is Piecing Together, published by Bloodaxe in 2005.
